The Lamorinda Baseball Club is a competitive elite travel ball program that provides for the opportunity to compete in regional and national level tournaments at the highest level. So, when the 10U Lamorinda Spartans were formed back in 2010 there was one goal in mind; to start a select team on a mission to try and win a National Championship.  This 3 year journey culminated in their 12U season of baseball that took the Spartans to Las Vegas, New Jersey, Los Angeles, Puerto Rico, and Memphis.  After playing nearly 80 games (69-10) since January 1st, and traveling 23,000 miles (It’s 25,000 miles around the world), Travelball Select has named The LAMORINDA Spartans the 12U National Champions for 2013 and the honor of being the #1 team in the Nation.

Led by TBS First Team All Americans Javier Felix, Adrian Flores, and Xavier Carter – Lamorinda finished the 2013 season with Championships in 13 of the 16 tournaments they entered all this while playing the most competitive schedule in the country. Similar to the BCS Standings and Strength of Schedule – in their 79 games, 34 of them were against teams ranked in the top 25 in the country, and 13 of those against teams in the top 5.  In 7 of their 13 Championships they had to beat a top 10 team in the final game, and 5 of those wins came against top 5 teams.

The Spartans won two Norcal Super NIT’s, 3 TBS Super-Regionals (Norcal, Socal, and Las Vegas), the VTV Invitational in Southern California, the Super Series Elite Super Regional, the Pee Wee Reece World Series in Puerto Rico, and the TBS National Championship in Los Angeles.

The 12 year old travel ball year is a very exciting one as the kids are still kids, yet play at a high enough level to make it an extremely competitive brand of baseball.  This year the Spartans as a team bonded both on and off the field.  Through hard work, incredible team chemistry, and basically a trip around the world, the Lamorinda Spartans achieved the goal they set 3 years ago finishing #1 in the country, and being named the TBS National Champions.
